Photographers who inspire

Who are your favorite photographers, the ones that inspire you the most?

Mine is Paul Nicklen (@paulnicklen). Not only does he create beautiful work but he uses it to raise awareness about conservation and climate change. His purpose and dedication are truly inspiring.

My absolute inspiration is @jennifernoellephotograpy on instagram…almost all my portraits are inspired by her style…both editing and shooting. She’s the reason I tried my first engagement shoot and loved it!

One of my favorite photographers is Simon Baxter, who takes photos of woodlands in Scotland. Here is a YouTube video by him about his approach to photography: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pGlTw1rHy8

Simon Bruty! He’s a photographer for Sports Illustrated who captures the action in sports unlike anyone I’ve ever seen. Look at @simonbruty on instagram, or @sifullframe to see his work!

The artist Tatsuya Tanaka is one of my favorites right now. The product photographer in me loves his sense of humor and creativity. @tanaka_tatsuya

And Gregory Crewdson’s work is fascinating. Shot on 8x10 transparency film, then scanned and printed. It’s very deliberate work, nothing accidental and has loads of adjectives that can be attributed to his work. @gregorycrewdson

@raigcv Who knows Rai… you might be able to work for her someday! I know she’s hired a number of grads in the past.

That would be my definition of a dream job!!!

Ross Halfin has inspired me since like '87. Joey L. blows my mind on a regular basis. Same with Gregory Heisler.

Andy Mumford and Scott Rinkenberger are my favorite landscape photographers. Andy’s color editing is unreal, and Scott does some amazing abstract/fine art black and white shots.
Dave Trumpore and Joey Schusler have some of the best outdoor sports shots (particularly mountain biking), and both incorporate unique vision to the shots. They go beyond just the hero shot and find creative ways to capture moments!

layrenner is the current person I"m obsessed with, I love her portraits and unique ideas and her editing style, plus donnamariephotography as an inspiration for wedding and retail photography. Also Sorelle Amore takes the most gorgeous self portraits in the most beautiful places.

I randomly met this photographer on the side of the road at a location I was shooting this weekend. I looked him up and I really love his Landscape work. Has anyone heard of him?

My inspiration is Marc Deliz, a New York photographer I discovered a few years back. His Instagram is full of photos of his family in unique settings, using one of a kind props (an example being a racecar made from a cello), and some even including animals. His work has a whimsical, vintage feel to them and I love how he has dedicated himself to documenting his children’s lives in such a fun and unique way. His handle on Instagram is @marc_andrew_d
